Soundtrack for May

What a packed AprilMay. Thankfully, I’m intact. Barely.

I made my stage debut last month. The journey was tiring, and boy, I still remember the fear. The memories of that first night - standing behind a black curtain, my heart bursting, closing my eyes in fervent prayer I wouldn’t trip and fall - are so fresh. I felt like escaping. Hiding. Unseen, never facing the possibilities of failure.

But I realise now that my most proud moments are those that give me the greatest fear. And if I can take steps toward conquering them, I’m on the right path.

So far, 2009 has been a path well-taken. I wonder if I truly am changing the world around me, but that’s a fear I can unravel in my lifetime, thread by thread.
